Biography

Megan Carlson is a 2023-2027 Self Graduate Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering at the University of Kansas. Originally from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, she received a B.S. in aerospace engineering from the University of Kansas in 2023. Her research focuses on the guidance, navigation, and control of uncrewed aerial systems, with an emphasis on flight testing. Her goal is to improve the reliability and expand the use of autopilot systems for disaster-response applications. Through her work, she aims to broaden access to aerospace technologies, inspire future generations, and contribute meaningful leadership to the field.
